Spirit's Gambit
"The House Always Wins"
What if you were told that after one last job you and your family would spend the rest of your lives in utter luxury? Spirit's Gambit is a narrative experience where you explore the magical Spirit's Hand Casino and use your own extraordinary powers to gather up your family members who have been turned into cards to complete the heist of a centaury. But do you have what it takes to steal from under the noses of people who have made a living through trickery and illusions?

My Role
For Spirit's Gambit my role was that of the Lead Systems Designer. Where I worked on creating the high level narrative concept as well as developing the core gameplay elements including: loops, abilities, stealth, puzzles, interactions, and exploration
Base Gameplay Abilities
Marking
In Spirit's Gambit if players come across a Hexed Card that they may not be able to acquire at that time, they may use their marking ability to keep track of the Hexed Card.
Pulling
Once players have acquired a card to swap for a Hexed card, players can return to the area where the marked card is and call the marked Hexed card up the deck to be dealt out in the next hand.
Swapping
Once the Hexed card gets dealt out and players have a card to replace the Hexed card with, players may use their swapping ability to do a magical sleight of hand maneuver to recover the Hexed card.
